Cybersecurity professionals are the first line of defense in protecting the cyber network in fields as diverse as banking and finance, transportation, law enforcement, government, and homeland security.
As a student in Herkimer College's Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics AS degree program, you'll take a combination of criminal justice and computer technology courses to help you develop the skills needed to be a successful in this rapidly growing field. The curriculum prepares you to transfer into a four-year program to get a bachelor’s degree, which is required in most entry-level positions. The Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics program at Herkimer College is certified by the Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Program, which means the courses meet training standards of the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS). CNSS is an intergovernmental organization that sets policy for the security of all U.S. security systems.
